VET study restyled Tahlia’s future

Trading places to stay relevant!

All staff who teach VET certificates must complete work experience to ensure they have current knowledge of the relevant industry and can therefore pass this on to their students.

As examples, Mr Michael Bregman (pictured) was placed at Mercury Metal Products in Bassendean.  His day started at 6:00 am with a factory tour, and then he was put to work welding, cutting and fabricating. The whole day was standing up and working. This reminded him of how hard it was working as a sheet metal worker.

Mrs Helen Chamberlain volunteered at the RSPCA, a Community Service Organisation.  She helped set up stalls and collected donations, sold cup cakes and merchandise, maintained an orderly area as required by the building management.  This will assist her in teaching the Certificate II in Community Services.
