Certificate II in Sport and Recreation

Thirty-eight Sport and Recreation students recently finished their First Aid course. This was the last unit that students needed to complete to finish their Sport and Recreation Certificate.

Ms Barber and Mr Stewart completed their own training to be able to deliver this course. They prepared the students thoroughly during First Aid lessons, before they delivered the course over the period of a whole day.

The course included a combination of practical and theoretical activities, exercises and assessments and it was great to see the students go through their paces during a full day of training on Thursday 8 August. We were most impressed that all of the students completed the full course and were all deemed competent. Students will gain a Provide First Aid Certificate and receive a Statement of Attainment that will contribute to their Sport and Recreation Certificate.

Well done to Ms Barber and Mr Stewart and their students.

Year 11 Work Experience

The Year 11 VET students participating in the Work Experience Program are learning valuable skills while out on their placements.

Ms Alford, Ms Weaver, Mrs Read and Mrs Smith have been visiting students over the last two weeks and it has been great to hear such positive feedback from their employers. Students are working in a variety of placements and seem to be really enjoying their experience.

Pictured below are some of the students involved. Warwick SHS is very appreciative of the companies that take on students from our school.
