The Breakfast Club is back in 2021!

With a brand new location and a heap of enthusiastic volunteers (and some yummy food), we are ready to launch the Breakfast Club for 2021. Located next to the school canteen, the Breakfast Club will run every morning from 8:10 am to 8:40 am. Our plan is to make some toasted sandwiches, filled with baked beans or spaghetti. At different times of the year, we will also have yogurt, cereal, fruit and savoury pancakes.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of a number of people, including:

  • Health and Physical Education Department (allowing us to use the space).
  • Student Council (volunteering their time to help with Breakfast Club and allowing us to use the room).
  • Warwick Senior High School staff (volunteering their time to help run Breakfast Club, and donating goods to get us up and running).
  • Home Economics Department (Ms Sarah Cotter and her Year 12 students making some yummy ANZAC cookies for us to add to the offerings during our start up week).
  • Western Stainless (donating a new fridge).
  • Food Bank (donating all the food).

Breakfast Club Success

The first week of Breakfast Club 2021 was a roaring success. Listed below, is a summary of how much food the school was able to supply to our students.

In just five 30 minute morning sessions, the team used:

  • 9 loaves of bread
  • 5 tins of baked beans
  • 6 tins of spaghetti
  • 72 slices of cheese

Which made a total of 144 toasties.

The team also used up:

  • 30 single serve tubs of yogurt
  • Approximately 80 ANZAC biscuits
