On Monday 15 February, the Year 8 Music Elite students were very fortunate to have Olman from the Boorloo Cultural Company visit Warwick Senior High School, to lead a bushwalk and demonstration of the creation and use of Aboriginal instruments.
The students saw first hand the rich native wildlife surrounding Warwick and learned a great deal of the local flora and fauna’s native Whadjuk names and multi-purpose uses within Aboriginal culture.
Olman brought along his boomerangs, yongka skins and didgeridoo. He then demonstrated the use of each of these items by using Noongar language, stories, and song.

Year 10 Media Filmbites Incursion
On Thursday 18 February, the Year 10 Media students were invited to an incursion with Filmbites Screen Academy to participate in a Screen Presenting workshop.
This workshop was ideal for students interested in documentary and vlogging techniques. By learning some of the skills involved in screen presenting, students also attain more confidence in speaking in front of the camera, as well as writing, memory and focus skills.
