Fogarty Futures Leadership Conference

While many of us were enjoying our school holidays, three of Warwick’s Year 11 students attended the University of Western Australia’s Fogarty Futures Leadership Conference, which ran over four days.

Alana Dooley, Kelly Tat and Charles Hamilton joined 50 Year 10 and 11 students from across Western Australia on the program, with the aim being to develop leadership skills, a passion for social justice and commitment to benefiting their local community.

While at the conference they caught up with Caleb McKenna, a former Warwick SHS Graduate (2018), who is working with the program as a youth mentor.

Engineering Opportunity for Students

During the school holidays, four Warwick students attended the Wise – Women in Subsea Engineering’s Future Engineers Program.

Congratulations to Hai An, Hayley, Jagriti and Mystiq on your efforts over the course of the week, which culminated in wonderful presentations to organisers, sponsors, families and school representatives. The program saw participants introduced to the many pathways open to them within the oil and gas industry, undertake site visits and involved them in problem based learning challenges.

Applications for next year’s program will open to Year 7 to 11 students in Term 3, 2020. An opportunity to keep an eye out for.
