GreenBatch is back for 2021!

Our dedicated group of GreenBatch volunteers will meet weekly to sort and collate the items collected in the purple and green GreenBatch bins at the school.

We accept PET1 (most clear drink bottles) and HDPE2 plastics (flavoured milk bottles) which are shredded and recycled into 3D printer filament at GreenBatch (https://www.greenbatch.com/), a local Western Australian start up company. GreenBatch is an accredited depot for the Container Deposit Scheme, so Warwick Senior High School will receive 10c for every eligible container! Win win!

In 2021, we hope to expand our recycling efforts to include items from our canteen, including soft plastic which are repurposed by RedCycle (https://www.redcycle.net.au/) and Replas into plastic street furniture and equipment. We will also divert green waste from the canteen to the worm farm and compost bins which have been introduced in the Science outdoor classroom.

Several Year 12 students, who are commencing a Certificate 2 in Volunteering, will be joining us in our journey to Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle and Refuse!

We meet every Thursday at recess on the lawn area near the Home Economics building. Come and join us!

Students should see Ms Lou Kirkby at Student Services for further information.
