Remembrance Day invitation

Warwick Senior High School parents and students are invited to attend the City of Joondalup’s Remembrance Day Service this Sunday in Memorial Park, Joondalup from 10.45 am. Guests will also have the opportunity to view submissions by Warwick students in the City’s Centenary of Armistice Day art program.

WAAPA Summer School

The WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) at Edith Cowan University, Mt Lawley is offering an exciting performing arts program for students from Years 1 to 12. The Summer School includes classes in rap, acting, dance, drama, screen performance, music theatre and how to perform Shakespeare. Interested in athletics?

Young athletes, of those interested in getting fitter, may be interested in joining North Beach Athletics.

The club offers training for athletes, including ambulant athletes with physical disabilities, through summer till  March 2019.

Training is at Charles Riley Sport Centre in North Beach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

North Beach also has its own gym for strength and conditioning.

Breakers Swim Club offer

The Breakers Swim Club, based at Leisurepark Balga, is offering a four-week free trial for new members until the end of December.

Participants, from beginners to elite performers, are able to do as few or as many sessions per week as they want.

It is open to anyone six years of age or older who can swim at least 25 m of freestyle, backstroke or breaststroke.

Students may like to access one or more of the four VacSwim programs available over the summer holidays. Information about fees, locations and enrolments are on the VacSwim website.

Resources for students at Joondalup Libraries

The City of Joondalup Libraries, including the Joondalup Reference Library, has resources available for secondary students.

The libraries offer study spaces and printing facilities, ATAR revision resources for Year 11 and 12 (the reference collection contains works relevant in all areas of the ATAR and General curricula), and online resources.

Students and families can access the website at, and use the search terms library online resources, reference services for students and Joondalup library reference collection, or drop into the Joondalup Reference Library or any of their branches and ask staff to help find printed and hard-copy resources.

Resources in the Reference Library, including the ATAR revision materials, can be accessed without a membership.  A library membership is required to access the online resources. Anyone can join the City of Joondalup Libraries as an online member.
