What a fantastic start I have had as Associate Principal.
I am really enjoying being part of the Warwick SHS team. It has been busy, but very exciting.
I was part of the Science Week activities, including the Science Fair where I enjoyed getting to meet members of the local community and local primary school students.
I attended the annual athletics carnival, and as a Gibson house member, I was sad to see that we didn’t make the top of the leader board on the day. However, Gibson did win most of the tug-o-war events, including the staff event, so I am focusing on the positives.
Through these types of events, visiting classrooms and assemblies and making Milo at Breakfast Club, I have been able to get to know many of the Warwick SHS students. I have found Warwick students to be friendly, polite and very helpful.
As the Associate Principal, I have a lot of different roles to play, but one of my favourites is working with primary school students so they can smoothly transition to high school.
I have visited assemblies at East Hamersley, Hawker Park and Greenwood primary schools. I would like to thank these schools for their warm welcome and allowing me to be in the audience for some amazing student performances.
I can’t wait to welcome Year 6 students to Warwick this year so they can start to get a feel for high school and help them get off to a great start in Year 7, 2019.
Another of my roles is working with students in Years 7, 9 and 11. I am always happy to talk to students and parents about any concerns they may have. Please feel free to call or email me if I can help you in any way.
