About Our School
“Warwick Senior High School is regarded as one of the
great public schools in Western Australia…”

Warwick Senior High School is a modern and progressive secondary school located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Ideally situated, it is surrounded by well-established bushland, is close to main roads, public transport, shopping centres and community amenities.

Students typically come from local primary schools, as well as schools outside of boundary. Students are attracted to WSHS because of the special academic, arts and sporting programmes offered, particularly, the specialised Netball and Football programmes.

Opened in 1981, the classrooms and buildings are all well appointed and functional, they blend well into the surrounding 1.5 hectares of natural bushland.

The majority of teaching blocks are based on an open campus plan, allowing for flexibility of lesson delivery and the utilisation of a variety of teaching methods by staff. The school is equipped with facilities including a gymnasium, tennis, netball and basketball courts, sporting fields, a Performing Arts Centre, open air amphitheatre and a swimming pool.

To assist in the use of information technology, the school is fully networked and has 350 computers located in computer zones around the school. Most of the school buildings utilise evaporative air conditioning.

A comprehensive curriculum is offered at WSHS and includes a range of WA Certificate of Education (WACE) courses and programmes endorsed by the Curriculum Council of Western Australia. Students work towards achieving their WACE over four semesters in Years 11 and 12. In addition, Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses are available for senior students. Currently, approximately one third of Years 11 and 12 students study VET courses. WSHS is recognised as a leader in Vocational Education and Training in government schools across the state.

Specialist lower school courses are also offered to those students with interests and abilities in Music and Dance. Academic and Leadership courses extend and challenge the more academically able students, while also developing skills that will prepare them to be future leaders in the community. Students who are at risk of not achieving at their full academic potential are catered for in an enrichment programme.

Warwick SHS endeavours to develop a welcoming environment to all students and their families. Cooperation, consideration and respect of all people, as well as for the physical environment, are central to the achievement of this aim.

Warwick SHS aims for commitment, integrity and excellence in every endeavour. Staff, students and parents can all work together to make a difference and help to ensure that every young person achieves to their maximum potential.

We look forward to working with you!
